Marcel Heise is a Berlin-based designer and artist. His series Sediment comprises eight large-scale vessels made from a scagliola-based synthetic stone. Drawing on scagliola’s history in decorative architectural surfaces, the works reconfigure the material as a self-supporting structure. Sediment introduces a material language conceived to operate across scales—from objects and furniture to surfaces, interiors, and architecture.
