luis frey is a berlin based designer, whose practice explores the relationship between objects, production and emotional value within contemporary culture. working across furniture, lighting and collectible objects, he develops pieces, that combine industrial scalability with visible traces of craftsmanship and material individuality. his work investigates, how objects may regain significance and emotional value in a time shaped by mass production, accelerated consumption and technological abstraction. through local manufacturing methods, digital fabrication and hand-finished processes, he creates products, which reveal their construction, communicate a human origin and encourage repair to foster long-term relationship.
